Housing Costs Parents are permitted to attend the camp, but they are restricted to the evening service only. Remember that homesickness is amplified by having a parent come or even call during camp. We discourage parents from interupting this very special time. If you insist on attending please keep these restrictions in mind and your lodging arrangements must made at the camp hotel if space allows or hotels in either Eldon or
Housing is generally free if you are an approved worker. If you want to stay in our very nice Hotel and you are a worker it will cost you $100 per room for 2 people. Rooms are normally $59 per nite.
What if a pre-registered child does not come?
You can transfer the child's registration to another boy or girl who is coming in their place or was not pre-registered. That way you do not loose any money. It will cost $15 for a child who doesn't have a replacement. We call them "No Shows". We have spent many hours working on the housing and so you can understand the trouble it causes to have to make last minute changes. We are willing to help with this as far as possible, but with the work involved this cost must remain.
Can Parents Visit?
Can I send a Cell phone with my child?
Cell phones are becoming common place in todays activities. Camp is one place we limit the availability to cell phones. Workers are not restricted if the phone does not hender their work or ministry. Campers are discouraged from calling home until Thursday, when there is only one night left at camp. Home sickness is usually increased with phone calls home. Please keep your child's cell phone at home or have them give it to their pastor, leader, or dorm counselor before camp starts. Our camp nurse will call you with even a minor injury or sickness. This can be a wonderful step for your child to gain some independence.
